K-12 Community Based Education

Empowering the Students of Our Communities Through Tailored Education Services

The K-12 Community Based Education Program is dedicated to supporting a nurturing, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment designed to address and support the diverse educational needs of students from Keewaywin, North Spirit Lake, Poplar Hill, Deer Lake, and Fort Severn. 

We aim to deliver personalized, high-quality educational programs that cater to the unique learning styles of each student, empowering them to reach their full potential and thrive within their communities.

Speech-Language Program

Our Speech-Language Program is designed to support students with speech and language difficulties. Led by certified Speech-Language Pathologists, this program aims to enhance communication skills through comprehensive assessments, individualized therapy plans, and collaborative practices with families and educators.   The Speech-Language Pathologists work with the Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to ensure students  provides direct intervention for students.   

Literacy Intervention

The Literacy Intervention Program is committed to improving reading and writing skills among students who face challenges in literacy. By employing evidence-based strategies and interventions, our specialized educators work closely with students to develop critical literacy skills necessary for academic success and lifelong learning.

Numeracy Intervention

Addressing the foundational needs in mathematics, our Numeracy Intervention Program seeks to build and strengthen numeracy skills through targeted, age-appropriate activities and lessons. Our approach is hands-on, focusing on engaging students in problem-solving, reasoning, and the practical application of mathematical concepts.

Special Education

Our Special Education Program offers support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities. Tailored to each student’s unique learning, the program encompasses a broad spectrum of services from modified curriculum to specialized therapies, ensuring an accessible, equitable, and quality education for all.
