Tutor

Looking for Thunder Bay based educators to tutor students in their respective subject areas.  Part-time, mostly after-school, early evenings, and optional weekends.

Salary Range: $26.00 – $41.60 hourly, based on qualifications and experience

Qualifications:

• Post secondary Diploma or Degree
• Experience in the field of education.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum
• Knowledge of First Nation education issues and challenges
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to speak one of the local dialects is an asset
• Willing to provide a vulnerable sector check
• Able to work effectively with others
• Ability to work under minimal supervision
• Punctual, meticulous, and reliable

Duties will include, but may not be limited to:

• Provide academic support to students after school hours
• Provide a safe, structured environment for the students
• Provide differentiated instruction as required
• Support accommodations as outlined in a students IEP to best support learning when required
• Work collaboratively with Student Services Front line staff to ensure secondary students submit lessons on time and achieve student success
• Act as a role model for the participants conducting oneself in a respectful, cordial, mature, and responsible manner
• Complete written documentation as required and submit to supervisor in a timely fashion
• Follow all KOBE policies and procedures
