Salary Range: 48,000 – 81,468
The Student Support Worker is required to perform a range of duties under the supervision of the Student Support Worker Lead, Student Services Manager, and Assistant Manager.
Qualifications:
- Must have training in Education/Teaching or Social Work background (Degree/Diploma will be an asset)
- High expectations for all students
- Familiarity with First Nation Culture
- Ability to speak one of the local dialects is an asset
- Valid class G Driver’s License
- Must be willing to provide a vulnerable reference check
- Must have computation skills

- Strong knowledge of child development—physical, emotional, and developmental stages
- Collaborative team player with a professional demeanor
- Excellent communication and active listening skills, especially with parents
- Skilled in conflict resolution; patient and caring approach
- Effective personal and office management; highly organized
- Believes in collaborative student support for successful learning
- Able to work with both small and large student groups
- Background in school and counseling settings
- Willingness to work beyond standard hours and adapt to KOBE’s evolving programs
- Proficient with computer programs and report generation
Duties will include, but may not be limited to:
- Transport student to appointments, school, airport and other places as required
- Plan and provide support for implementing KOBE extra-curricular activities
- Supervise and monitor students’ attendance, academic progress and behaviour
- Implement and plan student case conferences
- Encourage and support student academic tutoring sessions
- Recruit, screen and support Boarding Homes/parents
- Provide emergency assistance and support for students, parents and boarding homes
- Travel within KOBE communities and KOBE student sites when needed
- Adhere to KOBE policies and procedures
