Special Education Resource Teacher

The Special Education Resource Teacher is required to perform a range of duties including but not limited to planning, developing, delivering and evaluating appropriate individualized educational services for students with special education needs.

Salary Range: $53,610 – $120,369

Qualifications:

• OCT qualified teacher
• University degree in Special Education or S.E.R.T. certified
• Experience in supporting a school special education program
• Experience in diagnosing and assessing learning disorders
• Proven effective classroom and student behavior management skills
• Knowledge of current special education practices and methodologies
• Knowledge and understanding of Provincial, local, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education
• Familiarity with Ministry of Education documents (e.g., Growing Success)
• Working knowledge of educational technology applications
• Strong technology skills
• Ability to travel extensively to remote fly-in First Nations throughout the school year
