Moving Education Forward
The Graduation Coach serves as a mentor, advisor, and advocate for students, collaborating with stakeholders to implement culturally responsive supports across academics, mental health, justice, and cultural knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote dual credit options to support student interests and goals
- Collaborate with guidance staff to build individualized high school plans aligned with diploma and post-secondary pathways
- Identify and address barriers to student engagement, achievement, and graduation
- Support student safety, connection to school, and personal growth
- Track progress using measurable strategies to help students transition successfully after graduation
- Travel regularly to KiHS sites to support potential graduates
- Perform other duties as assigned by KOBE management
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required; Bachelor of Education considered an asset
- Respectful and sensitive to the diverse backgrounds and needs of First Nation students
- Knowledge of post-secondary pathways including college, university, trades, certifications, and micro-credentials
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to work independently and solve problems
- Flexible, innovative, and self-motivated in a dynamic environment
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and Vulnerable Sector Check
- Willing and able to travel extensively, including to remote fly-in communities
