The Foot Patrol Worker will monitor popular and high-risk locations where students may spend their time.
Responsibilities
- Monitor designated high-traffic areas on foot as outlined in the patrol log
- Supervise students during patrol shifts and ensure safety at all times
- Plan and manage student shift sign-ups
- Maintain communication with On-Call Workers and report suspicious activity immediately
- Submit clear, written reports at the end of each shift
- Ensure patrol phone, flashlights, and emergency contacts are readily available
- Respond promptly to phone calls and texts during and outside of shifts
- Assist in emergencies beyond regular hours if required
- Cross-trained to assist in On-Call and Student Home Worker roles
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and valid First Aid Certificate
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively
- Experience working with First Nations youth considered an asset
- Knowledge of First Nations history, traditions, and local dialects is an asset
- Comfortable working in varied environments (schools, outdoors, vehicles)
- Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
- Reports to the KOBE Student Services Supervisor and On-Call Supervisor
