The Foot Patrol Worker will monitor popular and high-risk locations where students may spend their time.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor designated high-traffic areas on foot as outlined in the patrol log
  • Supervise students during patrol shifts and ensure safety at all times
  • Plan and manage student shift sign-ups
  • Maintain communication with On-Call Workers and report suspicious activity immediately
  • Submit clear, written reports at the end of each shift
  • Ensure patrol phone, flashlights, and emergency contacts are readily available
  • Respond promptly to phone calls and texts during and outside of shifts
  • Assist in emergencies beyond regular hours if required
  • Cross-trained to assist in On-Call and Student Home Worker roles

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and valid First Aid Certificate
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively
  • Experience working with First Nations youth considered an asset
  • Knowledge of First Nations history, traditions, and local dialects is an asset
  • Comfortable working in varied environments (schools, outdoors, vehicles)
  • Must provide a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Reports to the KOBE Student Services Supervisor and On-Call Supervisor
