Salary range: $48,000 – $81,468

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incorporate KO community land-based practices, traditions, language, and values into active wellness programming
  • Plan, lead, and maintain regular wellness activities, workshops, and monthly calendars
  • Promote active, healthy lifestyles and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Collaborate with staff, Elders, and community members to support program development
  • Identify, request, and manage materials, equipment, budgets, and planning documents
  • Report on incidents and attend required meetings
  • Travel to KOBE sites and KO communities for program delivery and intake support
  • Work independently and as part of the KOBE team

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Recreation and Leisure or equivalent experience, with background in school settings
  • Knowledge of First Nation education issues and challenges; ability to speak a local dialect is an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with effective written and oral communication
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively; skilled in planning and coordinating youth activities and events
  • Valid Class G Driver’s Licence; willing to travel to KO First Nations and work evenings/weekends as required
  • Must provide a vulnerable sector check
