Salary range: $48,000 – $81,468
Key Responsibilities:
- Incorporate KO community land-based practices, traditions, language, and values into active wellness programming
- Plan, lead, and maintain regular wellness activities, workshops, and monthly calendars
- Promote active, healthy lifestyles and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Collaborate with staff, Elders, and community members to support program development
- Identify, request, and manage materials, equipment, budgets, and planning documents
- Report on incidents and attend required meetings
- Travel to KOBE sites and KO communities for program delivery and intake support
- Work independently and as part of the KOBE team
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Recreation and Leisure or equivalent experience, with background in school settings
- Knowledge of First Nation education issues and challenges; ability to speak a local dialect is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills, with effective written and oral communication
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively; skilled in planning and coordinating youth activities and events
- Valid Class G Driver’s Licence; willing to travel to KO First Nations and work evenings/weekends as required
- Must provide a vulnerable sector check
