First Nations and Inuit Youth Employment Strategy (FNIYES)

FNIYES supports activities focused on the development of work experience, information about careers, and opportunities to develop skills in obtaining employment to develop a career.

Both KiHS and KOBE submitted a joint proposal for FNIYES on behalf of the 5 KO communities.

The funds utilised under FNIYES support initiatives implemented by the Student Retention Lead (FNSSP). These initiatives included:

  • First Aid training
  • Trappers education course
  • KOBE Presents - Guest speakers series
  • Career videos (In production)
  • Elder engagement
  • Breakout EDU boxes
  • Lego Mindstorm kits
  • 360 Cameras
  • Manitoba science fair trip
